Our Story

A big-hearted panto for the small screen.

Missing your annual dose of panto this Christmas? Never fear, we're taking panto online!

Sleeping Beauty will have all the cheesy jokes, belly laughs and uplifting music you love. Musical theatre classics with a twist and songs from recent Broadway shows will be performed by a cast of friends looking to create something different, but also reassuringly familiar.

Get ready to boo and cheer when your favourite panto heroes and villains are beamed right into your living room in glorious HD. Filmed remotely on mobile phones and on location, the amateur Company is joined by an array of special guests, living across the world, who all help to bring the show to life.

REBECCA WARD /

Writer & Director

Rebecca has performed in a number of musicals and pantomimes these past five years, having returned to theatre and costume making after a 30-year hiatus. The frustrating restrictions of lockdown and having such talented friends was the impetus to start the online pantomime company. She has relished channelling her creativity into writing and directing the show and is thoroughly enjoying watching her ideas come to life on screen with everyone’s help.

Rebecca is an Arts and Fashion PR Consultant and has recently self-published a YA novel: Boudicca Jones and the Quiet Revolution.

DOM

CONTE /

Technical Director

Dom runs a start-up tech company by day, so although being technical director isn’t completely outside his comfort zone, doing so while COVID secure has been a challenge and a half. Add into that the fact he’s not a professional film editor. Or videographer. But he has loved this project and is so happy to have achieved something quite special for charity.

UGHETTA PRATESI /

Choreographer

Ughetta is a London-based dance professional, trained at Laine Theatre Arts and Guildford School of Acting (National Diploma in Professional Dance and BA in Theatre).

Having choreographed pantomimes for four years for City Academy’s Musical Theatre Companies and missing it terribly, she lent a helping hand to this production with some Zoomography!

Mario Resende.jpg

MARIO RESENDE /

Music Director

Joining City Academy’s Musical Theatre Companies in 2018, Mario has performed in seven musicals, occasionally also taking on the role of Music Captain. This is his first time as MD, which has been a great opportunity to exhaust the cast by adding as many harmonies as humanly possible.

Mario trained as a music technologist and engineer, with a focus on composition and production for film. His latest release, Rainy Days, is available on all good online music platforms.
